Jeans

Is finding a good pair of jeans for a reasonable price really as hard as finding a needle in a hay stack? It apparently is for me :(
I have a few pair of jeans, but one pair is too tight for my taste, one pair has a safety pin in the waist to make the waist fit, and the other has safety pins at the bottoms to make them fit in the length (I have to somehow make use of all the safety pins I use for my race numbers).
So I have been looking for a new pair since the summer, not very diligently, but every time I am shopping (which isn't much), I keep my eyes open for the perfect pair.
I guess skinny jeans are the new and ONLY jeans out there right now. They just don't work for my body and frankly, I don't think they work on too many people. But there are girls out there who rock them; I am just not one of them. There are also the jeans with rips in them and weird designs on them. I am definitely not a fan of those.
My ideal pair is dark wash, trouser style, non-stretch, around $30 jeans. I know they are somewhere out there, I just can't seem to find them. So for now, I am wearing my tight jeans, and feeling very uncomfortable and unhappy with my appearance.
Can I please just live in my running clothes?

Just found your blog. I know what you mean using safety pins for everything!

amen sister! jeans are the worst. my husband spent over an hour trying on jeans this past week at the levi outlet. my jeans are never long enough and never fit around my back. my hips are too wide, waste is too small, legs are too long. it's a dreadful experience to go shopping for jeans. my most comfortable pair is called premium something from gap (got them at the outlet) but they stretch out after a half day's wear and i can basically get them off without unbottoning them. arg.

and skinny jeans...i can't imagine! those of us with curves can never pull those off. i'm thin, but skinny jeans...NO WAY! gotta be shaped like a boy to wear those things and thankfully, i've got curves!
