Happy Saturday! Hope everyone is relaxing and enjoying their weekend! Thanks for all the encouraging comments on my last post. I am trying to stay positive and just trust my training.
Today's workout was hard! I have not been on the track much this semester, especially for long intervals. Today we had to do 1000/1200/1600/1200/1000 with equal rest between sets. After the 1600, coach had us do 1000 meters followed by 4x400. The wind was pretty brutal today, but we endured it. I still didn't feel as strong as I wanted to, and I ran slower than I wanted to. It was good to do this kind of workout, though. I talked to coach a while after the workout. I am so intimidated by him, but I love talking to him about training and fitness. We are pretty sure what is going on, just trying to figure out how to handle it in a healthy way. I want to share what is going on, but just don't feel comfortable doing so on here.
On to a different subject. I'm trying to do a better job of taking the initiative. I met for coffee with a girl interning at church right now. She challenged me to start getting to know more people by asking them to coffee or lunch or something...not only asking other college students at church, but also some of the women at church. This is something that is difficult for me. It is hard for me to ask people to do things, even my closest friends. I usually just wait til they ask me. So Wednesday night at choir I asked the lady sitting next to me if she wanted to get together sometime, and she said yes! We met yesterday afternoon for coffee and it went so well! She said it shocked her that I would even be interested in meeting with her. I am looking forward to getting to know her, and hopefully some more women and college students, this semester!
Well everyone is excited about the big game tomorrow. Honestly, I could care less about NFL, but this is the only time of the year that I watch it. I don't know who I'm for yet, but I think it will be a good game. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
