The Diagnosis...

I went to the doctor yesterday to find out my blood test results:

iron deficient and low sugar.

I'm so happy that the tests showed something! Even though I'm not happy about the results, at least I know what's wrong. The low sugar is something that changes everyday so it may have just been low when they tested it, but we are going to do some more tests and keep an eye on it. As for the iron, I'm taking liquid iron and I need to start eating red meat. I hardly ever eat red meat, not because I'm against it, just because I would rather eat other things, it's more expensive, and I don't really know how to buy and prepare it.

Coach still wanted me to try racing today at Alabama Relays. I ran the 5k, but if you look at the results, there is a big DNF beside my name. I did not finish the race. My coach pulled me out half way through. Although it was humiliating, I know it was best. His reasoning was that there is no point in putting my body through this when I don't have enough iron. I'm basically making it worse by trying to race with low iron. I'm going to focus on getting my iron up and just keep on training. I trust my coach, and I know he will help me get back.

Even though this phase of my running is extremely frustrating, it is so cool to see the work God is doing through this time! In spite of the problems, He is able to teach me and use me. I pray that He continues to glorify Himself in and through my life!

A huge highlight of my day was being able to run my cooldown with my best friend, Renee!!! This is the first time we have run together since last October because of her injury. I loved every minute of it! It went by so fast. I can't wait for this to become a daily thing!

One more week of verse memory! I'm loving it!

I can make steak, so when you want some red meat let me know and just head on over to my apartment.
