What A Great Week It Has Been!

This past week has been one of the most relaxing and fun weeks of the year! Oh, how I love summer!

Renee and I hung out with Ms. Nora on Monday night. She is our church pianist and is full of energy! I really look forward to hanging out with her more when I get back to Starkville! I had Nathan and Ashley over for dinner Tuesday night and made Mustard Maple Chicken in the crockpot, sauteed green beans, and blackberry crisp. I got to go to lunch with my mentor, Mrs. Melita, on Wednesday. It has been so good getting to know her this semester, and I look forward to spending more time with her when I get back.

Nathan and Ashley invited me to go to Laurel with them for the annual Taylor Crawfish Boil, and of course I said yes! We left Thursday afternoon and stayed through Saturday. Their family was so welcoming and really made me like I was a "Taylor." My time in Laurel was full of memorable events: running from large barking dogs, learning how to drive a ZTR mower, riding in a mustang that Big Daddy (Nathan's dad) built, slicing my finger on a razor, peeling so many crawfish that my hands still smell, and eating so much food that I probably gained 5 pounds in one day...and it was all worth it! Thanks for letting me be a part of this experience!

I got home just in time for Mother's Day! One day is not enough to show my mom how thankful I am for her. She works so hard and never complains about all she has to do. She is the best cook, the hardest worker, and the most humble and gentle person I know. I hope I can become even half of the woman she is. Thanks, Mom, for all you do! Words cannot truly express how grateful I am for you and how much I love you!

I am home for 2 weeks and then it's off to Colorado! This week will be full of wedding festivities for my best friend, Whitney!
