Sky Corral

I apologize for not updating in such a long time! Things have been busy here in Colorado and whenever we get free time, I am either reading, journaling, or just hanging out with the other staff.

I have been here about a week and a half now, and I'm loving it. I'm going to be honest...it is hard work, and I get exhausted during the day and many times have trouble staying motivated and working hard and cheerfully, but I am having a great time overall. I am on a team with Renee and a girl named Ruth, and we mostly cook and clean and do other odd jobs here and there. I love the cooking! It gets stressful when guests are here and we are trying to get the food out, but I enjoy it so much!

I love the staff here. There are 15 of us, and without them it would be hard to do all the work we do. There are 7 girls including me, and we get along really well and have lots of fun together. I am so thankful for the relationships I am forming here!

It is beautiful here! I love the mountains all around. The drive from here to town in incredible! I can't wait to go on some hikes and really get to experience God's creation out here.

I have had 2 days off since I've been here. The first day, Renee and I went to Fort Collins and hung out for the day going to lunch, walking around CSU, and going to dinner. The second day off I went to Denver to see my high school coach and spent the afternoon and evening with him and his wife. I haven't seen him since I graduated, so it was great to see him, and I had so much fun hanging out with him and his wife!

Getting adjusted to the altitude with running was definitely a challenge. The first couple of days I got really light headed and dizzy, so I took it very easy. I haven't had problems like that since then, but running has been tough due to the crazy long, steep hills all around the camp. I have seriously never run up hills this difficult. Tuesday, Renee, Luke, Daniel, and I drove into town and did our run on a trail by the river. It was so good! Not only was it 2000 feet lower than it is here, but it was also flat. It was so nice to feel normal on a run again. After the run we went to Vern's for breakfast...they have cinnamon rolls the size of your head! Such a great post-run meal!

I will try to be better about posting more often. I feel like I have so much more to write about, but I don't want to put too much on here at once and bore you with details (sorry if I already have). About to go lead worship with Daniel at a campfire!
