I am no longer a teenager! Today was the big 20! It's exciting, but sad too. Do I have to grow up? Can I just live in Never Never Land and have no worries? As I am writing, I am wondering what this year and the next 10 years will bring. Will I graduate? Will I get a job? Will I get married (the answer to that one is "no"). Will the things I do glorify God and impact people's lives? I think I'm too tired to think much about all this tonight...maybe another night because I still have a couple more hours of celebrating to do!
Today was a pretty relaxing day. I went to lunch with my parents at Fresh Slices, one of my favorite places to eat here. Then I endured the wolfchase area to search for a last minute gift. Tonight, my parents fixed an amazing birthday dinner: king crab legs, blackened tilapia, green beans, and acorn squash. As if that wasn't enough, my dad got a turtle ice cream cake! I am stuffed!
My sweet brother and sister-in-law came over tonight and we exchanged gifts with them since they will be leaving for Florida in just a few hours. They got me a very cute scarf for my birthday and a Cooking Light cookbook for Christmas. What's funny is that my mom also got me a Cooking Light cookbook for my birthday. Fortunately they are different books. Needless to say, I should be in the kitchen a lot this next semester!
As always, we shared some good laughs. It is always good to have Paul and Heather over. It feels complete with them here. I am really going to miss them for Christmas! This has been a very enjoyable birthday! I love my family so much, and would not have wanted to celebrate any other way!
One week until Christmas!!!

Loren Elizabeth, you ARE going to get married :) So change that to a "yes"!!!! WE LOVED spending time with you on your 20th birthday, like I said on Friday night - I am so very proud of who you are and who you are becoming. I bawled like a baby leaving 4152 Hadley on Friday night because I am going to miss you all too on Christmas - so much!!!! Love you more than words, HL
