Birthday Party

I won't spend too long talking about my race on Saturday. There isn't really much to tell except that I did awful. I'm not dwelling on it though. It's only one race and it's the first race of the season. Still don't know what is going on with my body. There are things I want to share, but just don't feel comfortable doing so for the world-wide web to see. If you want to know, just ask me and I will explain in person or through a message :)

Tonight, a bunch of us got together and celebrated Ashley's (my college minister's wife) birthday (which was actually Friday). I was asked to make something, so I chose to make a trifle that my mom made for me while I was home.

In the trifle is devil's food cake cubes, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, strawberry glaze, chocolate frosting, and coolwhip. I don't know what everyone else thought about it, but it tasted good to me! It was a lot of fun celebrating Ashley's birthday. I know I've mentioned it many times before, but her and Nathan mean so much to me. I love spending time with them, and I learn so much from them!

I started reading through the book of John today. Haley, a girl on my team, and I are going through it together. I'm really excited about it, but pretty nervous at the same time. I don't feel like I'm equipped to "lead" this at all. There is so much I don't understand and haven't learned. I think it will be very beneficial, though, to deepen our friendship and each of our relationships with God. My verse for today (day 34) is John 1:1-4. I probably spent about 45 minutes this morning studying just these verses. This is an awesome, deep passage of scripture!
