I can see a Light at the end of This Tunnel!

I moved into my new apartment on Monday, and I love it! It's so nice to have my own kitchen, and it's even nicer to be sharing a bathroom with someone who can't stand dirty bathrooms! This week has been amazing! I have had nothing to stress over or worry about...just time to relax and hang out with my team. I absolutely love the new freshmen on both the girl's and guy's teams. I think we are going to have a great year!

I am currently seeing a chiropractor, who I love! I've seen him twice this week, and I will continue to see him 3 times a week for the next month. He doesn't know exactly what my injury is but he is treating the whole area. The main reason I like him is because he is so attentive, and listens to what I have to say. Most doctors I see listen to me for a minute and then interject their opinion and remedy without listening to the other details I have to give. Dr. Leach wants to know every detail about the pain. All he is doing is deep tissue massage on the area. I am icing 4 times a day and doing some stretches in the shower with the hot water running on the area. He wants me to run 30 minutes a day for a week and then see what progress I have made. I am thrilled to say that yesterday and today I ran for 30 minutes with my team with no pain! Hopefully it is all uphill from here!

Our team is very young, but we have a lot of potential. Unfortunately, one of the freshman found out this week that she has a stress fracture in her hip and can't run for 6 weeks. What's worse is she just recovered early this summer from a stress fracture in her shin. Another freshman isn't able to run for 3 weeks because the doctor said if she keeps running, she will be out with a stress fracture as well. On top of that, a junior is dealing with some knee problems and can't run either. I'm starting to think that maybe I have been/am injured so that I can provide support and encouragement for these girls since I know how they feel.

My coach really encouraged me this morning by telling me that he really needed me in the top 5 on the team. Although I don't think that I am good enough to be in the top 5, it was really encouraging to hear him say that. Things are finally beginning to look up!
My Team!

top 5 is soooo doable for you. I see you there already ; glad you had a pain free run- I know how you feel! Keep up the positive attitude and this will pass.
