I have been seeing a sport's nutritionist once a week for the past month who a couple of my other teammates have also seen. It has helped me so much! I haven't really learned anything new, but just having her write out exactly what I need each day and how I should break up my calories throughout the day has given me a plan that I can follow. It has also helped knowing that she is going to see everything that I eat (since I am writing it down for her). Accountability is so beneficial! Since I have been seeing her, my eating has been going so well and I haven't overeaten at night. I have increased my calories during the day and I still get a high calorie snack after dinner. I can't say that I have been perfect and am completely better. I definitely still struggle and have times that I want to keep eating. It's weird that sometimes I miss my nighttime binges, but then I remember how terrible I feel after I binge and how great I feel following my meal plan. It has been an adjustment for me to feel this full throughout the day, but eating more during the day definitely helps me to not overeat at night. I know that I am going to continue to struggle and will probably fall quite a bit, but so far things have been really good and I feel great about my body!
Running has been up and down. I got really excited once I was able to run 45 minutes and probably did a little too much in a short period of time (50 minutes one day, 55 minutes the next, and 48 minutes the day after- I had only been running 20-25 minutes the week before). Due to my over-ambition and running everyday on the farms I started having some patellar tendonitis (tendonitis is fairly common after surgery). I had to back my running down again and just did 15-25 minutes for a few days last week. This week has been really good. I still have pain the first 5 minutes of my runs but then it gets better. I ran 50 minutes Monday, 40 minutes yesterday, and 55 minutes today. I will probably go shorter tomorrow and Friday and then hopefully run 60 minutes Saturday! My opposite knee has been bothering me a little bit in the same spot, but that's pretty normal when coming back from injury. This process has been very frustrating, but I'm trying to trust God and His timing for me and running. Fortunately, running is not everything and I have so many other things in my life to be focused on that are just important.
Random side note: I cooked kale for the first time last night- too much red pepper and garlic were added. Fortunately soy sauce made it much better. Next time (which probably won't be until it gets cold again since it is a winter vegetable) I will definitely be following a recipe.

Hey Loren it's Eileen lol..I've been creeping on your blog...I'm so happy for you that you are back to running again cuz I think the last time I saw you, you weren't running at all! I also can relate to your bingeing at night except the difference for me is I take it one step further..I pray you never get to that point..it's horrible but anyway I saw that nutritionist too and I loved her but I was in so deep with my eating disorder that I needed more than just a structure meal plan. But that was a good idea getting that help and like you said it's going to be hard because bingeing at night just becomes a bad habit and habits are always a struggle to break. But I have faith in you and I know you will be fine because I always saw you as such a strong person!
oh yeah and I miss you alot!

But I'm so glad that things are still going well with your eating!
And you are SO right that running is not everything. Besides, you are coming back stronger than ever! God has your back :)
I cooked kale for the first time a couple months ago! Very interesting! I like it! I need to make Kale chips. They're all the rage in the blogger world. ;) ha
