I am currently on a charter bus full of runners on my way back from the meet we had in Kentucky today. It is an eight hour bus ride, and we still have two hours to go. Fortunately, one of my favorite games, Catch Phrase, held us over for the first three hours ( I highly recommend it to those of you who haven't played). I decided I could pass a little bit more time by blogging.
This afternoon I ran my first 3000 meter race (close to 2 miles). Although I had been nervous all day, I was ready to race, and I was excited about running at a faster pace than my 5K races. This race seemed short compared to my usual 5000 meters. I finished with a time of 10:32! I was very pleased and so was my coach. It was a hard race, but I felt good. I will only be racing it a couple more times this season, so hopefully I will make some more improvement in those races.
I continue to be amazed at how much God has allowed me to accomplish in my running. I am constantly reminded that He is the only reason I have the ability to run and that He is the only one I am running for.
Our next race is in Arkansas next weekend, and I cannot wait!
