My wonderful parents came to see me on Saturday. I have been able to see them two weekends in a row! The basketball game on Saturday was the only one they could come to this year...it just so happened to be against Ole Miss, our big rival. The game was a sell out, but they decided to come anyway and try to find someone selling tickets. My dad said numerous times that morning, "We are down here by faith. I believe that God will provide the tickets."
My family has a history with going to games without tickets. I remember when I was younger we used to come to the Mississippi State football games with no tickets. We would pray that God would provide, and He always did...and most of the time we would get the tickets for free! On Saturday, my dad told my mom and me to pray for tickets. An hour and a half before the game, my dad calls me and tells me he has found tickets...for free! I was expecting them to find tickets, but I was very surprised when he told me the guy gave them to him for free.
The bible says that if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains. My dad has that kind of faith. I hope that one day I can have as much faith as he does, but I have a long way to go.
Unfortunately, we lost the basketball game. However, it was still a great day. I had a good workout, got to spend time with my wonderful parents, and had the best pasta I have ever tasted at The Veranda!
