Back Home!

Well, I am back in good old Starkville. Got settled in yesterday, ran errands and went to practice today, and classes start tomorrow. I must say that I am very happy to be back...back in my routine, back with my team, and back in my apartment...however, I am not too excited about starting back classes.

I got two new cookbooks over the break, and today I went through every page of one of them. I decided that for dinner tonight I would cook Pasta with Sauteed Tomatoes, Olives, and Artichokes and fix a simple green salad for the side. The pasta turned out pretty well. All the ingredients contributed a good amount of flavor. I enjoyed it, but it is not one of my absolute favorites.

I do think I should have fixed another side: a vegetable or a piece of bread would have been nice with it. I will be eating it for a few more days though because I made quite a bit.

Tomorrow I have a 600 meter workout: 2 sets of 5 at 2:00-2:04 with 2 minutes rest between each one. I know I am capable of doing this work out because I have done it before, but I am pretty nervous since my running over the break was not ideal and I have not run this fast in a month. But I need some fast, hard workouts since our first indoor meet is next Saturday! I do not feel prepared at all, but I am excited about racing again. We will be traveling to Lexington, Kentucky. I want to do well this indoor season but, more importantly, I want it to prepare me for outdoor.
Cheers to the start of a new semester!

girl, if that's all i had for dinner, i'd be starving! throw in some peanut butter on bread for the protein and calories. you need it with all the training that you do.

AHH!
Fun workout for you tomorrow! I love/hate that feeling of nervousness to do a workout you KNOW you've done before, but yet it is scary until you start tackling the intervals one by one.

One step at a time! :)
