It has been raining here off on for about 2 weeks. I think I heard that we have received about 25 inches of rain this month, which is a record! I haven't minded it too much...until today. Our football game was scheduled to begin at 11:20, which meant if you wanted to tailgate before the game, you had to do it early. So my team decided to do a breakfast tailgate before the game. I woke up early, walked down to the junction (where all the tailgates are) and as I'm looking for our tent, it begins to rain. Not just light rain...it is pouring!!! Fortunately I had a raincoat, but still ended up getting soaked! Our plans changed to breakfast at one of the guy's apartments, which turned out pretty well,until I had to walk all the way back to the stadium in pouring rain. I kept repeating in my mind, "This is worth it!"
It was worth it! It was such a good football game! We lost 30-26, which I'm still very sad about, but we played a heck of a game! Fortunately it stopped raining during the first quarter and I dried off by the end of the game.
So many sad things: no tailgating, flash flood, getting soaked, losing the game. The best part of the day was getting to see my family. My parents and older brother, Paul, came. Paul sat in the student section with me. It was so much fun getting to hang out with him...and learning more about football than I thought was possible: "they are in this formation because they are going to do this play," "they need to throw the ball here instead of run it," "#26 is terrible at defending!"
Although I wasn't very happy about all that happened today, I got to see my family, which made for a wonderful day!

I wish you could have come Saturday!!! But I don't know how much fun you would have had in the rain! I can't wait to see you at the Florida game!!!
