Grapefruit

I have to actually get into the "school" routine tomorrow. I didn't have class on Friday and all I have on Mondays is lab, which doesn't start meeting for another 2 weeks, so I had another free day. However, tomorrow will be much busier: class from 8 to 3 with one break. Ugh! It's worth it though because my schedule for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday is the best ever!

We had a "semi" workout today: a total of 10 miles; the first 3 at 7:00 pace, the next 4 at 6:45 pace (actually went 6:32 pace), and the last 3 at 7:00 pace (actually went 7:10 pace). This is the first time we have done this kind of workout, and i loved it! I have always enjoyed long runs, and it was nice to speed it up a bit. I am pretty tired now, but feel very accomplished.

This may be random and uninteresting to anyone but me but I will write about it anyway. I cut a grapefruit the correct way for the first time today! I have always loved grapefruits, but I have always eaten them with a grapefruit spoon and have never peeled them. However, today I peeled it correctly with a knife and then cut all the wedges out and squeezed the rest of the juice. I found that you get a lot more of the fruit doing it that way. I just wish I liked grapefruit without salt. I use a lot of salt on grapefruit because I don't enjoy the flavor alone. But I guess it's ok since I don't eat food with much sodium, and I run quite a bit. My dad still tells me I should eat a palmful of salt everyday...Gross!

"House" comes on tonight! So excited!

Mmmm grapefruit... Your the second grapefruit post I've commented on today... Either I spend too much time blogging (likely story, until I go back to work)... or grapefruits are more popular!

I eat mine with honey and/or agave nectar with a spoon. Never pealed it, but my grandma does. You probably do get way more out of it that way.

:) great job on the workout loren.

and the grapefruit factoid is interesting! i always put sugar on my grapefruit, not salt....lol, which sugar is way worse for you so maybe i'll try salt. it's just so bitter sometimes.
